Fablehaven & Candy Shop War!

I went to a fireside at our church tonight & got to listen to Brandon Mull, my favorite author!
It was great! Very glad to hear that even though the last Fablehaven comes out in March he has more books set for the next few years! I love reading books that have strong characters that have good morals. I love his "voice" in writing. He tells a very good story, wither it is about Fairies, Dragons, & all kinds of magical creatures, or kids & magical candy (The Candy Shop War) it just grabs you & holds your attention & when you are done reading you are almost in morning for want of more! Having to wait a year between books is almost enough to drive a girl insane! The thought that the 5th & FINAL Fablehaven book comes out in March is exciting & sad at the same time!
I'm looking forward to reading his newest book, PINGO, about an imaginary friend who becomes the kids imaginary enemy when the kid tries to stop believing in him!

First Weekend Away!

Well, M.D., Bubbaduh, & I will be going to M.D.'s grandma's funereal this weekend out of state. We will be leaving the Princesses with a friend. This is the first time I have traveled so long & so far without my girls! I have left them overnight a handful of times, most of those with my mom. Since we no longer live near my family we have to rely on friends.
I totally trust this friend, but I still worry about my babies! Lil Sis, is very much a momma's girl. This is a better thing than my staying home with them while MD goes for 4 days & 3 nights! With all the stress from his having surgery & my having to care for the whole family for that time & everything else going on, I need this break! I know everything will be ok here. I know that Heavenly Father is watching over us.

The part I'm most looking forward to is getting Bubbaduh, together with his 2 cousins who were also born this year (one in Feb & the other in July)! He is in the middle in age, but is the biggest in size! I have never had trouble breastfeeding my babies. (Yes, I even breastfed my twins for 13 months!)

Have you ever realized how much there is to do when you are planning a last minute trip?! I always have to make a list so I don't forget something important! I forgot my comb one time I went camping! Had to go to the store & buy a new one.

Can you see why my blog is called "Random Mothering"? Everything I do is random!

My reason

Well, I never thought I would have a blog. Still not sure how long I'll keep up with it, but for now I need an outlet.

I have so many things going on in my life, just like so many other moms. I have 4 wonderful kids, who I love with all my heart. They are my greatest joys & trials!

My oldest, Princess K., age 5, has just started Kindergarten, has a loose tooth, & still has "accidents" in her pant almost everyday (at home).

Next, we have almost 3 year old Twins, Sissy & Lil Sis. Sissy loves to talk & kid around, she fights diaper changes. There are days I get so caught up in everything else I forget to check her & she will not tell me she is wet or poopy! Lil Sis, on the other hand, is taking her diaper off as soon as it is wet or dirty. In fact while I was typing this I had to go clean up the floor from her taking it off & not sitting on the potty to do her thing!

My youngest, Bubbaduh, so very loved by all his sisters! He is only 4 months old right now, but already over 17 lbs & 25". He does great sitting up on my lap as long as he doesn't think about it!

The last person, but most important, is my hubby, M.D. Just last month he was diagnosed with Testicular Cancer. He had surgery to remove it & is now having blood tests to make sure his Tumor markers go back to normal. If they don't then we start Chemo.

So there is a very short intro to my family. More to come...
